A Dark Day in Paradise by Clare Twomey 3,000 black ceramic butterflies descend on the sumptuous interiors of the Royal Pavilion. The butterflies cluster on the extravagant Banqueting Room table, across window panes, in roof lights, on mantelpieces and other surfaces throughout the ground floor rooms. Their sombre beauty is a reflection on the excesses and frivolity of the past life of the palace.
Clare Twomey is a British ceramicist/artist who works with clay in large-scale installations, sculpture and site-specific works. Over the past 10 years she has exhibited at Tate, Victoria & Albert Museum, Crafts Council, and the Museum of Modern Art in Kyoto, Japan. A museumaker commission, funded by the MLA and the Arts Council England

Bring Me The Horizon 5 young boys in their late teens and early 20s got together back in 2004, out of the ashes of unsuccessful bands that couldnt make it, and started to write the music they wanted to write together. With a penchant for the very heavy, a rabid, hungry, loyal and huge fan-base started to grow and their shows became busier and busier. If their critically acclaimed debut album and sophomore effort Suicide Season propelled them into the metal mainstream, their eagerly awaited third looks set to push them through into the stratosphere as one of the biggest and best metal bands in the UK, and the world, now. Theyre also joined by Canadian hardcore heavyweights Cancer Bats, as well as openers Tek-One, in a bill that promises to be one of the best shows of the year.+ special guests CANCER BATS + Tek-One

The When I’m Pretty Brighton Special The long-running tri-monthly night in Kings Cross, curated by Plus, comes to Brighton for the 2nd time. Strange things can happen...Plus formed in Kemptown over 10 years ago. They wear Amy Winehouse wigs. They use guitar, 808 and far-out vocals to create a sound described as strangely-flavoured frozen junk pop, fucking shit and the best band Ive ever seen. They have been curating When Im Pretty in London for 3 years, showcasing acts as diverse as Bach-playing classical guitarists and hardcore industrial noise, normally on the same bill. Part performance art, part punk, part prog, you wont have seen anything like them, and you wont forget them. The Lovely Brothers are a dysfunctional family of performing buffoons whose cabaret tunes combine tongue-in-cheek satire, pop plagiarism and punk mayhem. Orange Street Music Club Think satire, think melody and youre on the right lines of what The Lovely Brothers are all about. Art rock at its rawest? Pantomime-pop? Cabaret-punk? Forget the labels and just enjoy the ride.- Latest 7 Magazine Broken Star Broken Star were formed in 2006 by Tom Del Rio, (Guitar and visuals) and Andrew Greaves (keyboards) to improvise sounds to accompany film, video and as on this occasion, their own visual images. The influences are wide ranging, from Electronica, Jazz, Gospel & Rock to Middle-Eastern, Classical and Minimalism, with Andrew’s warm keyboard tones/textures, glitchy organ, dark Rhodes and deep sub bass acting as the soul/premeditator to Tom’s sometimes ASBO guitar lines. DJ Unmixedmaster from Space Disco will be keeping it interesting before, during and after the acts.

The Country Girl Starring Martin Shaw & Jenny Seagrove, THE COUNTRY GIRL tells the story of a once great theatre star who is down on his luck but has the chance to make a major comeback. The Country Girl is the powerful story of washed-up actor Frank Elgin, a desperate and demanding alcoholic who is offered a comeback chance to star in the next Broadway play by hotshot director Bernie Dodd. Believing the actor’s long-suffering wife Georgie is the reason for his decline, Bernie strikes up a stormy relationship with her - but in 1950s New York how far will a woman go to redeem the man she loves?
